The Gloucestershire Playing Fields Association was founded in 1926 by a small group of forward thinking people, to help create and improve open spaces for sport, recreation and play.
Today the GPFA continues to work hard to achieve the same objectives, providing advice and support for its member organisations (currently over 160 town and parish councils, sports clubs and other community organisations), together with a small grant and loan scheme, to help improve, maintain and promote sport and play facilities on public open spaces across the county.
